HOTEL EVERLAND
L/B
Palais de Tokyo - Paris, FR

Hotel Everland by artist-duo L/B (Sabina Lang and Daniel Baumann) is a lesson in scale, belief in your work and experiential art. I had the pleasure of experiencing their installation in Paris atop the Palais de Tokyo in September 2008. They created an environment that represented the modern vibe, that you could stay in as a hotel on the rooftop overlooking the Seine, the Eiffel Tower and the left bank of Paris.

While I was there, it gave me time to reflect on the power of dreaming big when you are making art. I was also reminded to believe in your work and you can realize it no matter the scale. It also served for me a reminder that others will experience my art in different ways and I can only put it out there and then let the viewer take it from there. The sketch/guest book they provided proved this point, as I looked through the entries and every page evoked a different emotion for that individual. It was a memorable evening that left me with lessons on which to reflect.
